Chicago house originator DJ Pierre resurfaces under his The Don alias, cramming in unreleased material made between the 90s and early 00s, when his output splintered over a maze of identities. Names like Phuture, Photon Inc, AC!D Face and Afro Acid Project weren't just disguises but functional outlets, each tied to a specific strain of his sound, from the squelching core of acid house to tougher club tracks and vocal-led cuts for the black hole galaxy of cool that is Strictly Rhythm. The Don assumes his part in the alias-canon as one of his more direct dancefloor vehicles, less conceptual than Phuture but still rooted in the same hard-riding experimentation. This new batch comes lifted from CD-era archives and is a sure snapshot of Pierre's restless workflow, '3 Of Them' essentially meaning three choice, randomly-numbered, safe-deposit holdings, once shuttered away, now unleashed.
