In the late 1960's, Colombia's Caribbean coast cities of Cartagena and Barranquilla were invaded by the modern sounds of Nuyorican boogaloo and salsa. Meanwhile, a young sax player and bandleader by the name of Michi Sarmiento, the son of Discos Fuentes' brilliant in-house arranger Climaco was honing his skills in the rough bars and clubs of Cartagena's red-light district. This compilation features the best of the guaguancós, descargas and cumbias recorded by Michi and his Bravos between 1967 and 1977 - pure Colombian dancefloor thunder.
